University College Cork (UCC) is one of the leading universities in the Republic of Ireland, forming one of the triumvirate of Queen's Colleges in Belfast, Galway, and Cork on its founding in 1845.
Today, the university serves over 26,000 students, producing 7,500 work-ready graduates annually and ranking number one in the world for its work in Energy and Climate Change.
A keen adopter of new technologies, UCC had invested in an immersive room, purchased from a different provider, hoping to make use of the many advantages that immersive learning can bring. However, as the technology they had initially purchased to power the space failed to meet expectations, the system quickly became the expensive elephant in the room.
Seeking to turn the fortunes of the space around, UCC invested in an Igloo Immersive Media Player with Igloo Core Engine installed, which has transformed the functionality and usability of the space, turning it into one of the most useful and engaging rooms on campus.
