A Cave vs. an Igloo - how to choose the right tool for the right task
30th April 2019
There’s a common misunderstanding out there in the immersive technology market, and especially in the academic and research-related communities…
About two months ago (it feels like a lifetime), like so many other businesses, Igloo decided to transition as far as possible to working from home.
Such a huge and radical shift came with a variety of teething problems, not least of which was ‘how can we demonstrate the power of Shared VR to our potential partners and clients?’
Naturally, we would ideally host a demo at one of our Shared VR centres across the globe, but we had to get creative. You might remember the blog post that we shared at the start of this situation, outlining the virtual options available.
We adapted our Igloo Showroom app, originally designed for creators to check how their content would look inside an Igloo, for demos. And we’re pretty pleased with the results.
And, going forward, it’s a brilliant way for us to save time and travel for our potential clients - they can learn so much about our technology before they visit in person. And, for those who aren’t located near one of our Shared VR centres, we can still get across what our immersive technology can do.
So, if you are someone who has any interest in Shared VR, and how we can help you get your content into an immersive space that anyone can use, please do ask us about our virtual demos.
